Senior Executive Search
for Arts and Culture

In this dynamically changing world, the stakes are high for our cultural institutions. They need people with attitude who want to shape and take responsibility, because the challenges are getting bigger and more complex.

Our motivation is to find the right talent for our European clients in the arts, culture, and education. In doing so, we focus exclusively on management positions and work cross-regionally and internationally in every respect – because art and culture know no borders.

Our expertise is based on roots in one of the leading strategy consultancies in the field of arts and culture in Europe. This results in intensively established networks in all sectors.

As advisors, we combine 25 years of successful strategy consulting with our personal experience in leading organisations.

The search for a new leadership is a special process.

In many ways, this search is different from any other casting in a cultural institution.

The decisive factors here are the strategic importance of this decision for each cultural institution as well as the skills, experience and leadership qualities required for top positions.

Traditional search and appointment procedures are currently undergoing fundamental changes. We facilitate contemporary and transparent selection processes and offer tailor-made, structured search processes to nominating bodies and search committees. In doing so, we rely on our many years of market knowledge, an uncompromisingly discreet process, a reflective networking approach to candidates and attentive reference checks to guarantee a selection that is transparent and objective in every respect.

The requirements for good leadership are constantly changing.

We monitor current developments in theory and practice and accompany professional careers in the arts and cultural community.

Together with our clients, we reflect on effective leadership models and approaches and bring specific needs in line with experience, talent and creative inspiration.

In our understanding, "good leadership" means that the purpose of an organisation ("purpose") and the individual strengths of the acting persons ("individual calling") are harmonised with each other in the best possible way.

New Placement does not leave change processes to chance.

With this consulting service, we support managers who are facing a phase of new professional orientation, as well as cultural and educational institutions that want to part with top personnel.

We have also developed a carefully balanced consulting process for this challenging situation. Our support provides important personal impulses for professional reorientation and opens up differentiated further developments towards a new leadership task.

In an accompanying coaching session, we reflect on strengths and competences as well as previous professional developments and leadership situations. We can draw on our large institutional network for the targeted approach of future employers and the support of selection procedures.

Finding talent to lead cultural institutions is a responsible and meaningful task. Personalities with know-how, ambition and character secure the future of the performing arts in orchestras, concert halls and theatres and preserve the cultural heritage in our museums.”
